March 26, 2020
To All FoodSource and Temporary employees:
Effective Monday, March 30, 2020, FoodSource, LLC will shut down for a minimum of two (2) weeks in order to do our part in helping stop the spread of the Covid-19. This applies to ALL plant employees with the exception of Maintenance. Maintenance will continue to work and abide by the social distancing guidelines.
During this time, employees are eligible to apply for unemployment compensation. I have attached the information for you to apply online. There have been changes to unemployment and there is no waiting period to begin to receive benefits. You will be eligible from day 1 and not need to look for employment while you are off. Please read the attached and follow the directions for applying.
If you prefer to use vacation time versus filing for unemployment, you will need to put your request in before you leave work Thursday, March 26, 2020. Your manager has a list of what vacation and personal hours you have available to use. If you choose to use vacation, this will be paid out at our next normal pay date of April 10, 2020.
We strongly encourage employees and their families to abide by the guidance set forth by the CDC and the Governor of Virginia.
At this time, we plan to resume operations on Monday, April 13th however, given the nature of the ongoing pandemic, there may need to be changes made to the return date. We have updated everyone’s phone number and will contact you before April 13th to provide an update. You will also be able to log into the FoodSource website to see any updates we may have under “Covid-19” The website address is: www.fshub.net the password safety there you will find helpful links to the Center for Disease Control Covid-19 Updates and the Virginia Employment Commission to file for unemployment.
Thank you for your cooperation during this time. We all need to do our part in stopping this pandemic. We strongly advise following the CDC guidelines and stay at home, don’t go out unless necessary, avoid crowds and practice social distancing.
